ensign peak

It is finally turning into spring time and we are just so excited!!  To celebrate we decided to go hike Ensign Peak and bring Lucy with us.  Ensign peak is one of our favorite hikes and we do it at least once a year.  It is just so beautiful seeing the valley, state capitol, great salt lake, and the temple.

This was Lucy's first hike!  At the beginning of the hike we practically had to drag Lucy up the hill.  She wasn't quite ready for the hike or the fact that she had to walk up a pretty steep hill.  Once we started going she had a great time though.

When we got to the top it was just beautiful.  Lucy got to catch her breath and relax.  We didn't bring up any water so she was really thirsty.  She started licking all of the rocks at the top and eating grass.  It was the weirdest thing.

There was a young couple up at the top and they said that Lucy was so cute and calm.  They were petting her and she was just sitting there, loving it.  It was the first time I have ever seen her be so calm while there were other people around.  I think she was so calm because she isn't used to hiking and had a good workout.  I think this means that we need to take her on a hike at least every week!

glasses

I went to the eye doctor a month ago and it turns out I have an astigmatism and need glasses!  Kind of exciting to be able to see again haha.  I went to a million optical places to find me some glasses.  Let me just say that it is a lot harder to find glasses than you would think!  My mom and I were joking that there should be a show called "Say Yes to the Glasses!" like the show "Say Yes to the Dress!" because it is so difficult to find a pair of glasses that look good on you.

Nik was so kind to go to the million stores with me.  He put up with my grumpy attitude when all the glasses were huge and just looked hideous.  He helped me find the best pair!

Thanks for putting up with me Nik!  You are the best and I am so thankful for all your help.

lucy lou

The other day Nik and I went to Healthy Pets and gave Lucy a bath.  She absolutely loved it!  I wish I would have taken a picture of her with her huge grin on.  It was the cutest thing I've ever seen.  We even blow dried her fur and she was super poofy and pretty when we were done.

Let me just say that Nik is one of Lucy's very favorite people.  Ever since she first met Nik she has loved him.  Every time he comes over she just goes nuts.  She won't stop kissing his face and she will never leave his side.  Nik definitely has Lucy Lou's big heart.

Nik and Lucy are my very favorite.  I love them so much!  I can't wait until Nik and I can get a dog of our very own someday!  It will be such a great day.
